Ever since I was a child, I have made little villages out of sticks, stones and whatever else i could find. I suppose all children do this. I am however, and always have been, a storyteller, and as I put these cities together, I would mumble stories to myself about the people, places, and events that occurred here. I made one at each place I lived. This culminated in a large garden plot in our backyard, which seemed to incorporate elements of each of the other areas, sort of tying them all together. I named this "country" "Yqarus." Currently this is the end of the story, though knowing me, it will no doubt continue until the day I die.
But why a blog? I have a world-building app, which I can appreciate, but it occurred to me that perhaps having an interactive story I can share with others might be beneficial as well. So here we are. This is the story of the garden plot which I call "Yqarus" and all of the other little projects that preceded it, all tied together with a common, if at times jumbled, plot line. This blog will hopefully forma sort of interactive encyclopedia, which I can show to others, with adjustable formats, something the world-building tool does not offer.
I will tell these stories as close to in order as possible, but I will notate how they continue. If the story of a post continues in another post, I will notate where the continuation can be found.
I am not certain I will be able to finish this project as it were, but hopefully something will come of it.
I hope you enjoy!
